#updatecast - Charge A New Way To Look At Energy & The Supplements That Are Working For My Dyslexic Mind
Share
Ever feel like your energy levels hop around all day? As a fellow adult with dyslexia, I’ve been on a constant quest to find the right mix of habits and supplements to keep things balanced. In this episode, I talk about what’s going on in my life right now, how I’m exploring a new perspective on energy, and the supplements that have truly stuck.
I also share the ones I’ve let go of—sometimes you’ve just got to let things drop if they aren’t serving you. If you’re curious about improving your focus and want an honest glimpse into my routine, you’ve come to the right place.
I'm even working on a Neurodiverse Supplement company that actually works - it does not have the weird stuff in many supplements and works for us.
Taking Stock of Daily Habits
Life can feel like a juggling act when you’ve got a busy schedule and a dyslexic mind. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with different morning and evening routines. Some work wonders, others just add noise.
Sticking to a gentle schedule has been key. I try to wake up around the same time each day, then start with a bit of movement. I’ll do some light stretching or a quick walk. Nothing fancy or exhausting—just enough to wake my mind and body.
Once I’m settled, I like to jot down a mini to-do list. I keep it brief, focusing on three main tasks. I’ve noticed if I overwhelm myself with a massive list, I’ll skip half of it anyway. So I keep it simple and achievable. It’s all about little wins.
Exploring Energy and Mindset
I’m currently reading a book called Charge and the Energy Body, which has shifted the way I look at managing energy. The author dives into the idea that everything we do carries either a charge that energises us or drains us.
Whenever I notice I’m in a slump, I ask, “Is this draining or fuelling me?” If I do something that feels draining, I try to balance it with something uplifting. It might be a quick break, a chat with a friend, or listening to music. I believe awareness is the first step to managing your energy wisely.

“If I’d known a few years ago how much energy work can shift my perspective, I’d have started sooner.”
Supplements That Make a Difference
When it comes to dyslexia, I’ve tried loads of supplements over the years. I’m no expert, but I know what helps me. Sometimes it’s just one or two basics that support memory and focus.
Here are a few I keep around:
- Magnesium: Helps calm my mind, especially at night.
- Fish Oil: Supports the brain, and it’s often recommended for cognitive function.
- B-Complex: Keeps my energy steady. I can feel the difference if I miss it for a few days.
There have been other supplements that simply didn’t work out for me. They either upset my stomach or didn’t deliver any noticeable benefit. I’ve learned to let go of what’s not helping and continue with what feels right.
Moving Forward
Managing dyslexia is a journey. I’m still figuring it all out, but being transparent about my wins and misses keeps me motivated. If a habit or supplement no longer serves me, I honour that and move on. No guilt needed.
