Updatecast - The Big 4, Breaking Through Barriers And More
Share
Are you juggling a million things at once and wondering how to keep your health strong, your work thriving, and your sense of purpose warm and fuzzy? That’s exactly where I’m at. In this latest episode, I share personal updates on my journey with dyslexia and ADHD, and why putting my health front and centre is the big priority for the year.
We dive into real-life strategies for setting goals that stick, rather than chasing scattered projects. We also explore doing business with “creative days” and the surprising ways they boost focus and innovation. It’s about consistency, community, and a sprinkle of self-discovery along the way.
Putting Health Front and Centre
Health influences everything from mood to motivation. If we feel tired or burnt out, it’s hard to accomplish anything else. I’ve decided it’s time to step off autopilot and get more intentional.
When you have dyslexia or ADHD, routines can feel like an uphill climb. I’ve found it vital to break down each goal into small steps. That way, I’m not overwhelmed trying to fix all my habits in one go.

Goal Setting with Dyslexia and ADHD
Over the years, I’ve noticed that it’s easy to slip back into our comfort zones. Sticking to long-term goals takes more than good intentions. We need structures that make life simpler.
Consider focusing on just one or two specific targets at a time. For example:
- Walking for 20 minutes a day
- Checking off one creative task each afternoon
Little steps stack up fast. It’s easier to build trust in ourselves when we complete these smaller wins.
What Are Creative Days?
We all know that constant action can lead to mental overload. That’s why I created dedicated “creative days.” On these days, I let myself explore fresh content ideas, experiment with different media, or tackle new projects without feeling guilty about everyday to-do lists.
This helps me recharge, sparks fresh ideas, and keeps me engaged in my business. You might try scheduling a creative day or half-day in your routine if you find yourself feeling stuck.
Finding Purpose and Balancing Life
The search for purpose never feels finished. We’re constantly evolving and so are our interests. If you’ve been wrestling with that bigger question—why do I do what I do?—know that you’re not alone.
Balancing family, friends, and work can sometimes feel like a circus act. But we can make it less stressful by prioritising time. If we schedule downtime the same way we schedule work tasks, we can stay present in each area without feeling guilty.
