#updatecast - You Are Not Alone, It's Ok To Accept Help & New Perspectives

Ever wonder what happens when you take a curious mind, sprinkle in some dyslexia, and leave it to brew on life’s mysteries? That’s exactly what this episode brings you. Strap in for a behind-the-scenes look at what’s swirling in my head and how those thoughts might help you see things differently.

In this Updatecast, I dig into my current projects and explore how dyslexia shapes my perspective. I also share a few personal breakthroughs, or what I like to call penny drops. These moments are sudden flashes of insight that shift how I see things. They’ve helped me navigate tasks and tackle challenges in a more aligned way.

Peeking Inside My Dyslexic Brain

Some days, my mind feels like a puzzle I’m still trying to solve. Thoughts bounce around, and I need to piece them together in a way that makes sense. My Updatecast is a chance to unpack this process so it can inspire you in your own life.

I share how I manage tasks that might seem simple to others, like prioritising goals or even remembering the right words. When you embrace your dyslexia, you often discover fresh ways to think. It’s not always easy, but it’s certainly never boring.

Penny Drops and Perspective Shifts

During the episode, I talk about those moments when something suddenly clicks. It could be a new way of organising my schedule, or realising my emotions can be powerful indicators. These drops in perspective can come from everyday interactions.

“Sometimes a single sentence from a friend or a random conversation is all it takes for me to see my world differently.”

For me, that is the best part about sharing insights in real time. You never know who might need to hear it or how it might change their own approach to managing tasks or building new habits.

Navigating Doubt and Self-Talk

We all deal with voices in our head that sow doubt. Mine often get loud when I’m stepping outside my comfort zone, or trying out a tool I’m not used to. I talk about ways to quietly tune those voices out and refocus on what sparks joy.

Here are a few methods I share:

  • Quick Mind-Checks: Taking a moment to ask myself, “Is this fear real, or am I just used to thinking it?”
  • Positive Anchors: Remembering times when I’ve succeeded in the past, and using them to fuel my next step.
  • Micro-Milestones: Rewarding small wins along the way, so bigger goals don’t feel overwhelming.

Finding Flow and Progress

Once you start getting out of your own head, it’s easier to hit that sweet spot called flow. In the update, I share how I’m experimenting with different approaches until I find a rhythm. It’s about enjoying the process without overthinking too much.

Flow isn’t a constant state, but even short bursts can be enough motivation to keep going. I talk about simple habits, like setting a timer or building in breaks, to maintain momentum. It’s not foolproof, yet the awareness alone is a huge first step.

Connecting the Dots

If you’ve felt scattered, anxious, or unsure how to use your unique dyslexic strengths, you’re not alone. This episode is all about providing a window into my creative mess. My hope is that by sharing how I process new insights, you’ll start noticing your own penny drops.

We don’t have to figure everything out at once. A little reflection, a small conversation, or a single idea can become the spark that helps us move forward in a more intentional way.

  • Enjoy the journey, and don’t sweat the stumbles.
  • Stay open to new insights, they often come when you least expect them.
  • Embrace your dyslexic mind, it can lead to amazing breakthroughs.
  • Check in with yourself daily, even a minute of reflection can spark change.

I invite you to listen to the full episode (the player’s at the top of the page) if you want a deeper look. You’ll hear my honest thoughts, some light-hearted tangents, and more on how these perspective shifts could help you tap into your own creativity. I’d love to know what penny drops you have along the way—reach out and share, because we’re all in this together.
