The Truth About Dyslexia Finalè

Have you ever felt that nagging pull to shake things up, even when everything seems to be going fine? That’s exactly what’s been happening here. In this episode, we talk through the shift from “The Truth About Dyslexia” to “The Dyslexic Entrepreneur,” why staying energised matters, and how it can open doors for us dyslexics.

This conversation covers how boredom starts nudging us to try new things, how simplicity can help us avoid overthinking, and why dyslexic adults often make brilliant entrepreneurs. If you’ve been considering a pivot or new direction, jump in and get inspired.

A Quick Reflection

For years, “The Truth About Dyslexia” has been my creative passion. I’ve loved exploring the ins and outs of dyslexia, helping people realise they’re not alone, and sharing tips for day-to-day life. That said, there came a point when I felt a shift in my energy. I knew I wanted to talk more about how dyslexia impacts us in business.

I realised that many of us do well when we run our own show. We love creating businesses, thinking outside the box, and pushing boundaries. I wanted to take that focus and run with it. Boredom wasn’t a sign of failure; it was a sign I was ready for something new.

Why Dyslexic Entrepreneurs?

Dyslexia often gives us unique strengths, like creativity, empathy, and problem-solving. We can also struggle with details like spreadsheets and admin tasks. Yet those differences can become superpowers if we set up the right environment.

In the episode, I share the decision to hone in on adults who want to build and grow businesses. There’s so much potential for dyslexics to carve out their own paths. I see it time and time again: given the freedom of entrepreneurship, we can thrive.

“I wanted to do something that lights my energy up. Life’s too short to get stuck in boredom.” – Stephen Martin

Keeping It Simple

Like many dyslexics, I can overthink. I spend hours and hours analysing if the change in direction is right or wrong. The truth is, clarity often comes when we just do it. It’s about stepping forward and trying.

Rebranding to “The Dyslexic Entrepreneur” made sense and instantly felt easier to explain. Instead of explaining all aspects of dyslexia, I can direct my energy to people who want to use dyslexia as a springboard for business success.

Connecting with Community

Of course, my aim isn’t to do this in a vacuum. I want to find more dyslexic entrepreneurs who get it. Community is huge for us. We learn so much by hearing other stories, strategies, and lessons. That’s why I’ll bring in more interviews and real-life examples.

We’ll explore how dyslexia, ADHD, and other differences affect things like marketing, sales, or focus. We’ll also talk about mindset and everyday hurdles. If you love the original content, you’ll find nuggets in this refreshed version too. We’re just narrowing the scope to offer deeper, actionable insights.

Embracing the Next Chapter

Taking a leap can be scary, especially when you’re comfortable with the status quo. Yet I’ve learnt that growth rarely happens when we’re standing still. This podcast has evolved with every episode, and this rebrand is the next step on that journey.

Whether you’re already a business owner or just thinking about going solo, I hope you’ll find something valuable in our new focus. Together, we’ll explore how to start and grow businesses, share personal wins and losses, and hopefully save you a few headaches along the way.
